April...almost over...how can that be?

What a very busy month we have had so far! We have enjoyed all things Easter this month, are learning about Sea Life, the brown continent of Australia, and celebrating Earth Day by creating beautiful artwork and reading books to help us learn how to keep our planet clean, tidy, and safe. A few simple changes in your household can make a HUGE difference...really. Ask your child how your family can help :)

On Monday our classroom guests will arrive...your children are very excited. I will let them fill you in. I will give you a hint : they take 28 days to hatch and they go "QUACK!" when they do.

Lastly, newly registered children for the fall will begin to visit our classroom next week. Our resident BIG KIDS are excited to show new friends the ropes.

Some March happenings to share...

Water exploration with a St Patrick's Day twist!
Always learning..."Mrs. Anzalone, look what happens when we put too many things in the funnel, the water comes out slowly and then just stops...a traffic jam!"

Scooping for hidden treasures...always a favorite.
"Come out, come out wherever you are!"

Dressing up with some wooden shoes from the "Red continent"

Some March word wall writing

March calendar...numbers, numbers, and more numbers!

Fun doing some "word work" on the Ipad! This app is "Word Wizard". Children are able to build words, phrases, even sentences and hear what they just typed! Using classmates names has been the favorite so far.

Puzzles!

The astronaut felt board + imagination = FUN!

Another lunar landing :)

Some art exploration with painters tape, children then added some green paint...and then imagine their faces when we removed the tape...MAGIC!

Some quiet time...discovering what's under the rainbow

We tasted Starfruit (or Carambola) this week...
EVERYONE tried it, only three friends didn't care for it, and many asked for a second helping!

We ended the week celebrating Dr Seuss' birthday (the young man in the bakery at Tops thought I was a bit unstable when I asked him to write Dr. Seuss' name on the cake...hehe)...we enjoyed listening to many of his books throughout the week and learned some facts about him as well. Ask your child how old he would have been this week (108), what his real name was (Theodore Seuss Geisel), and how many books he wrote (44)!
A great interactive IPad app for this month is The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library "There's No Place Like Space"
Here's to a great fun-filled month of March!
THINK SPRING...
(A hint about what fun things are coming up in our classroom next month...QUACK, QUACK!)
